Out and Back

A run of about one and a half miles to some point, a short rest, and then a return run by the same route. Combined times for the two runs have the fudge factor (monthly race times) applied to determine the winner.

The first leg is usually run as a handicap with the starting times being the times for the handicap race divided by two. All start together on the return leg, usually a couple of minutes after the last runner has reached the half-way point.
